In this parody style Dark Comedy thriller, Grandma's Not a Toaster, I love the use of lightening and storm. This shows us what time, the story is taking place. Gives us that element of comedy and parody of horror thriller movies in the olden days along with the use of cheesy horror music. The entire film is told through all the character’s point of view in each transition. It shows us the characters thoughts and feelings and the way they see tough situations. The way the camera is shaking is hand held which may show their way of thinking as very intense or losing their calm. This is a useful technique as they are using camera movement to portray the character's thoughts, feelings and mental state. When the Grandmother’s point of view starts, everything is pitch black and you see nothing but the heavy Darth Vader like breathing from the grandma in the background which I found very creepy. I also admire how intelligent and smart the grandma is intelligent and that she provides herself a gun to protect herself from the obnoxious brother. Shows she is not your average old dying, weak, feeble grandma the film makes her seem to be in the beginning.
