Level of creativity

Massive overlaying manipulation

This film poster was a very interesting find as it immediatly caught my eye. The visual storytelling of what the movie is going to be about engages you as you see two main characters in the film. Interestingly these two characters are not different characters but they are the same people: younger and older, which suits the genre. Seeing one of them upside down and the other on top tells us that these two characters will meet and when they do, conflict will ensue and tension will increase.
We already know the genre of the film as the slogan, "Hunted By Your Future... Hunted by your past," which gives us a clue that the theme of the story is Time Travel. We can also see a clock, a stimulus of the story, as the first "O" in the title as well. This could inspire us because we can use a picture of an alarm to replace the letter "A" in our film title in "Silent Alarm."
The characters are fading away into dark, black dust and smoke which tells us that one of these characters will probably die, creating suspense for the viewers and will make them want to see the film so they can see which one will survive. This film has a very interesting and creative concept of your present self wanting to kill your future self.
This film poster also features interesting casting as well to see two actors looking alot like each other which will attract the audiences even more to go see the film.
In conclusion, this film poster is visually enticing in terms of creativity, storytelling and already offers you some clues of what you think will happen but at the same time, create suspense for the audience to find out if it does. We can use this as inspiration to depict our characters in the film poster and show that they will meet and indeed conflict will ensue and tension will rise when they do.

The Campaign shows the two's relationship as rivals or not very pleasant and are against each other. The costumes which they are wearing are suits and ties and in the background you can see the White House building which would represent politics and government-related issues. This informs us that they are politicians fighting against each other. I also admire the typography which they use a badge with stars and banners on the logos as the name of the comedic actors and the title of this film.
This was a visually engaging, thrilling and enticing poster which I really admired in terms of creativity. Silence of The Lambs genre is a horror. I can tell this by the white light shining on the persons face in the dark, which may represent evil and death and white would represent fear and the redness in the eyes may represent danger as well. The moth placed on the woman's mouth may represent the word in the title, "silence". The moth's depiction may be used to make the audeince feel uncomfortable as it placed on her mouth. The moth may be a stimulus or a theme of the story which makes me curious as to why the moth is there. Is it a metaphor or is it really a moth?
The Typography is very interesting as the font is the type you see on a car number plate. Again it has that same, witty technique that "LOOPER" did. They replaced the letter "A" in "LAYER" with the number "4" which is shaped like an "A" and the letter "E" in "CAKE" with the number "3" because it was shaped like an "E". I also like the layout as well. That a car is on the bottom and the title's alignment does not neccarilly have to be in the middle or at the top. It was simply on the Left hand side of the poster.
The visually astonishing overlaying photo manipulation is what I love about this poster. This film is a genre of horror or thriller sort. The woman's face is broken in half hence the title "THE BROKEN." Engages the viewer as it makes him/her wonder what is wrong with her: is she emotionally broken? Physically? Mentally? This poster shows that photo manipulation combined with title names create a metaphorical sense of what the story is going to be or a visual depiction of what the story is about as we see this interesting main character going through a sort of trauma and the audience would be interested to see why.
I really enjoy the image focus on this poster. This poster looks like it's film's genre is a comedy. I can tell this by the colourful vibrant colours in the background and nothing serious looking going on. The image focus shows a blurry Johnny Depp wearing sunglasses, a hat and smoking a cigarette. In my opinion, this picture is blurred because it may singify the craziness Las Vegas might be, hence the title.
This shows that image focus can be used to show the way main characters can see things through their eyes, point of focus concentration, how they see things and how they think and feel.

Film Poster Planning: Sketches for our Film
First Sketch: I drew a turkish delight wrapper and some notes on a shopping counter. Bits of blood is spilling all over the counter and the items. The items are the stimulus or the props which have some sort of link. The audience will wonder why would they consider a mere turkish delight to be of such importance?
The desk represents the location of where the film will take place: An Off Licence or a shopping place of sorts.
The blood informs the audience that something very bad will occur, cause tension, a crisis. The audience will be curious to know who's blood is it and what has happened.
For typography, I was considering on wittingly replacing the letter "A" with an alarm that is shaped like an "A"
In the background are the characters, that the people in the front will meet. Apart from Levi meeting with the Clerk. The Clerk (Chung Wong Woo) is angry and yelling. We can see this through his depicted outraged facial expression, which will inform that an out of control situation will take place in the story. These are weird and peculiar characters, which will attract the audience as they will look forward in seeing what will happen when they meet.

For typogrophy"SILENT" should be in white bold capital letters to portray calmness and quietness whereas "ALARM" should be in bold red letters to portray danger, caution and alertness. The two colours and words combining together show something bad is going to happen.
The characters are in the front side by side. The poster is split into two, depicting different locations. One in a supermarket the other in an Off-License. These characters will meet and their facial expressions show that when they do, tension will rise. The two boy's facial expression looks nervous, a little frightened, their thoughts are probably,"oh shit what have we got ourselves into!" Or maybe Levi would look more determined and Levi would look nervous. Which would show the oppositional character traits. the Hitman looks very mysterious and lethal and just plain annoyed with the woman clerk behind her.
